The New Teaser Trailer For Wilson Yip's PARADOX Amazes And Graces With Brutality And Drama

On the evening of the events kicking off this year's Hong Kong Filmart, a wave of new announcements arose as well as the emergence of trailers. One particular anticipated project was the new Wilson Yip thriller, Paradox (formerly Fate), with none other than action legend Sammo Hung directing the action and a stellar cast headling the film featuring Louis Koo, Wu Yue and Tony Jaa, and as the latest teaser trailer for it details, it presents nothing short of pure promise.

When Hong Kong police negotiator Lee Chung-chi (Louis Koo) was informed about the sudden disappearance of his 16-year-old daughter, Lee Wing-chi (Hanna Chan), during her trip to Pattaya, he decides to travel to Thailand to search for her daughter's whereabouts. There, Lee receives assistance from local Chinese detective, Chui Kit (Wu Yue), and his colleague, Tak (Tony Jaa), and also encounters American gangster, Sacha (Chris Collins).
Based on clues, the disappearance of Lee's daughter is related to a case involving the mayoral candidate of Bangkok's urgent need for a heart transplant. Lee also suspects the mayoral candidate's assistant, Cheng Hon-sau (Gordon Lam), colluding with Sacha to abduct his daughter. While suffering from the loss of his beloved daughter, Lee personally imprisons uniformed officer, Ban (Ken Lo), to investigate the case. As a result, Lee becomes a nationwide wanted criminal. To seek revenge, Lee can only ask Chui to assist him in finding the whereabouts of her daughter's heart.

Also starring are Wolf Warrior co-star Chris Collins, Gordon Lam and Ken Lo with SPL II (Kill Zone 2) producer and director Paco Wong and Soi Cheang both producing. Jaa last worked on Cheang's SPLII in his only other starring role in an Asian film following his career breakthrough with Furious Seven in Hollywood, with this designating him even further as a bolstering action star in the wake of both titles, as well as Paramount's, xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, and the forthcoming production of Triple Threat with Jesse Johnson at the helm.
