Warner Bros. Targets Rights To ATTACK ON TITAN For David Heyman To Direct
That said, one might have wondered if this would turn out to be yet another Hollywood property, and lo and behold, it's Deadline with the exclusive word that Warner Bros. is looking toward the rights with an eye on Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them helmer David Heyman to direct. If all goes well, it will he Heyman in the director's chair, thus adapting the tale of a brother and sister forged in the heat of battle in an epic saga years in the making as remnants of what's left of mankind in a city walled off from the outside world following the emergence of towering, man-eating monsters known as titans.
Heyman's film, for which he is also up to direct its sequel, released back in November and, to date, has pulled in a global gross of over $800 million dollars, which is a pretty stocky number to his credit. Good on Warner Bros. if this deal makes it through the rounds and all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed, while the report also mentions this as the latest move toward adapting a Japanese IP following buzz over Akira...
...Personally, I'm not too keen on holding my breath for the latter. Besides, I'm an asthmatic. Screw that.
