[UPDATED] Marvel Officially Releases Its PHASE 3 Calendar
Update (6:10 pm EST) - An incorrect version of the Marvel Phase 3 calendar was shared prior to its correct version now available in its place. Damn you H.Y.D.R.A.!
It's pretty clear that Walt Disney Co. and Marvel Studios have the upper hand with Warner Bros. still trailing with its DC Cinematic Universre. Last month's epic conference at the El Capitan Theater was just what the fanbase needed in overseeing just exactly where all the Marvel movies were going after the first two phases, on top of continuing casting announcements with the confirmation of Get On Up star Chadwick Boseman for Black Panther and Rush co-star, actor Daniel Bruhl's casting for a villain role in next Spring's production of Captain America: Civil Warthis week.
So, more casting continues, and with the May 1, 2015 deadline set for Joss Whedon's possible MCU bow out as director with Avengers: Age Of Ultron, all the dates are locked in with no word yet on what the future will bring except for what trickles from the studio itself, or random clues and leaks from the slithering scoundrels of H.Y.D.R.A.. On that note, Marvel Studios just officially put out this cool roster of all the announced MCU: Phase 3 films to come which you can check out below.
You know you want this in your room too! Don't hate.
Among many of the film, TV and independent projects I've followed up on, one stood out as something worth following in its early days as I had known of the folks working on its action for its director, Charlie Dennis. Fast forward three Winters later and we were introduced to the world of gritty martial arts short, Deep Pan Fury, with UK actor Andrew Koji, whose extensive TV and film acting and stunt credits include 2007 Muay Thai flick, Fighting Beat, Justin Lin's Furious 6 and as the voice of Hien in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.
Conclusively, I couldn't be more proud of Koji this week, and that brings us to the longstanding developments of Cinemax's upcoming ten-episode martial arts drama, Warrior which is set to go before cameras in South Africa on October 22. Netflix series Fauda helmer Assaf Bernstein is directing from a script by Banshee creator Jonathan Tropper, in turn inspired by the unproduced work of late martial artist multihyphenate, entertainer and fil…
Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme's peak success in the decade or so has been refreshing to observe. His acting and performances overall have turned solid and even a little more introspective to a degree, and his latest effort, Jean-Claude Van Johnson looks to echo that effort. Jean-Claude Van Johnson stars global martial arts and film sensation Jean-Claude Van Damme as “Jean-Claude Van Damme,” a global martial arts and film sensation…and, operating under the simple alias of ‘Johnson,” the most dangerous undercover operative in the world. Unhappily retired, he’s now whiling away his days in superficial Hollywood… until a chance encounter with a lost love lures him back into the game, eventually forcing him to confront the greatest enemy he’s ever faced: a Bulgarian drug cartel.
Just kidding it’s himself.
Jean-Claude Van Johnson stars Van Damme along with Kat Foster (Your Family or Mine), Moises Arias (The Middle), and Phylicia Rashad (Creed). The show is executive produced by Dave…
Recent events may have temporarily thrown actor Jon Bernthal's push for upcoming Netflix series, The Punisher, into a bit of a quiet spell. Surely, it isn't slowing down progress on other matters of film and we can thank the current run of reviews and press online since the Tribeca premiere of Jamie M. Dagg's new movie, Sweet Virginia. A mysterious stranger sends shockwaves through a close-knit community in this nerve-jangling slice of raw suspense. In the wake of a triple murder that leaves the residents of a remote Alaskan outpost on edge, tightly wound drifter Elwood (Christopher Abbott) checks into a motel run by Sam (Jon Bernthal), a former rodeo champion whose imposing physical presence conceals a troubled soul. Bound together by their outsider status, the two men strike up an uneasy friendship—a dangerous association that will set off a new wave of violence and unleash Sam’s darkest demons. Driven by tour de force performances from Christopher Abbott and Jon Berntha…
