We still don't yet have official word on mixed martial arts superstar and actor Cung Le's possible talks for a role in the film following a press video in late June. However, at least one other name has been likely added to the cast in the form of actor Jason Scott Lee, known for his memorable performance in the 1993 hard-hitting spirtual Bruce Lee biopic, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. The update was noted by way of a convincing Facebook photo posted by one of the film's co-producers, Bey Logan, on July 5 and finally reported on by several outlets, including City On Fire just last week
With these names noted in the bracket for the film's cast list with others awaiting confirmation, Empire has also confirmed actor Harry Shum Jr., best known for his principal performances in films like Step Up 2 and 3, and webseries shows like the Legion Of Extraordinary Dancers and Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 2. The report confirms Shum Jr. for the role of Tie Fang, one other key character in the new sequel based on late author Wang Du Lu's classic Chinese pentalogy, with a script by John Fusco.
20 years after the events depicted in 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,' four heroes of the Martial World, Silent Wolf (Donnie Yen), Yu Shu-lien (Michelle Yeoh), Tie-Fang, and Snow Vase, must use all their courage and skills to keep the legendary sword Green Destiny from the hands of the villainous Hades Dai.David Thwaites is producing the English-language sequel for its 2015 release courtesy of The Weinstein Company, while Shum Jr.'s most recent performance in the new crime flick, Revenge Of The Green Dragons awaits its release.
