Is RAMBO V Happening?

Comingsoon.net has forwarded new updates pertaining to the long-awaited production of the fifth film in the epic eponymous war commando saga, Rambo. Franchise actor Sylvester Stallone successfully reinvigorated the character back in 2008 film, Rambo, twenty years after three feature-length installations were made, ultimately putting the actor on the map for blockbuster action stardom. As of 2009, with a TV-show previously reported to be in development with Stallone also potentially starring, producers at Nu Image/Millennium Films had already greenlit the film, especially since Stallone already owns the rights to the 1999 novel, Hunter, from which the film was once thought to be based on. With this, the official synopsis now deviates from the novel for the film, tentatively titled Rambo V, and reads as follows, courtesy of the film's new rights holders, Germany-based Splendid Film:
With 'Rambo V' Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone, who has also written the screenplay, describes the new Rambo as his version of 'No Country for Old Men.' Like the last film, 'Rambo V' is produced by Avi Lerner ("The Expendables 1-3")
The previous working title, Rambo 5: The Savage Hunt, would have seen the lead character taking on a prehistoric beast in the Arctic. Personally, I'm not too sure how I feel about that. It feels more sci-fi than anything, so I hope the current synopsis sticks. More updates are needed as things appear to move forward though, so keep this in your notes and stay tuned for more info.

Stallone returns to the big screen in The Expendables 3 on August 15.
