His Majesty Takes Aim In The New Teaser For THE KING'S WRATH

A new teaser and several character posters have now gone viral for the upcoming film, The King's Wrath. Directed by Lee Jae Kyu, the new period action drama stars actor Hyun Bin fresh from his return from conscription after volunteering in 2011 and reportedly into his first "sageuk" role, namely based on that of real-life King Jeong-jo, an 18th century Joseon Dynasty ruler who faces assassination attempts and political turmoil at every turn.

The film also stars Jung Jae-Young, Cho Jung-Seok, Han Ji-Min, Cho Jae-Hyun, Park Sung-Woong, Kim Sung-Ryoung and Jung Eun-Chae, and bows in South Korea this May. Stay tuned for a release date and more trailer news.

The film centers around King Jeong-jo, also known as Korea's 'King of Misfortune' who witnessed the death of his father under the hands of his paternal grandfather. Caught between political factions vying for control of the region, he would never forget the circumstances surrounding the death of his father and those that influenced his grandfather's decision.
